I'm not a huge fan of Beverly Hills. The shopping, the cars, the overpriced parking; it's a lot like Disneyland with none of the actual gayness and hilarity. (Well, maybe the gayness, but mostly in the hair salons.) Either way, I made it down to some art exhibit hosted by this guy named Eric Voake, showing a collection of photos he'd spent a year capturing at The Roxy in West Hollywood. It was a little trite for me to end up taking pictures of pictures, but I was impressed with the gallery overall.
Later, I coasted on fumes (I'd spent my gas money on parking) to the Lingerie Club on Sunset, where they were hosting a silent auction to benefit Haiti victims. Among other useless crap that people bid on ( a pair of sunglasses? Really?!), was a Maybach that started at $20. I didn't even have five dollars, but I still bid on it. By the time Poe came on stage, though, I could've cared less. This chick turned a house full of dull, droll wine sippers into a rowdy mosh pit. Priceless.
